Howdy all,
Welcome to my Tuesday Talk blog post as part of Bruno and Kylie Bertucci's Demonstrator Training Program Blog Hop.
As you may have notice the theme for these Blog Hops is Thank You, and most in the Blog Hops use their Thank You cards to thank their customers for purchases. What a sweet idea that is, showing our appreciation to our customers for supporting our little businesses with a handmade card. Isn't that really so much of what we are really about, actually making and giving our cards to people as beautiful, meaningful or fun messages. So I thought why not give it a try, for any purchases made with me From 8th February to 8th March 2021 I will send one of these Butterfly Blue Thank You cards.
This card is made using DSP pattern paper and stamp set from the Sale-A-Bration promotion that were earned for FREE. How cool is that.
In true Kerrin style I went straight to the back of the Paper Blooms Designer Series Paper to see what hidden treasure I could find. Always, I mean always check out the backs of DSP, they are so under rated and such great designs and versatility often is hiding there. After my recent string of working with pinks, the heavy navy drew me in and the cute white flowers were just soft enough to work for the design I had in mind.
This design I had bookmarked some time ago, just waiting until I found the right elements to bring it to life. The downward flags and circular center piece. The circular spots sheet of the Paper Blooms Paper was perfect for the centerpiece and I knew this was the right design and elements to make it all work.
I was challenged by my fellow Team Shiny members to use the A Touch of Ink stamp set, it's such a gorgeous set and much bigger than I had expected. It's main features are a little bird and this butterfly. Since I am still waiting for my Butterfly Boutique Collection to come in I thought I'd warm up with this one.
I decided to make the butterfly 3D and embossed to bring out the details. I stamped out the butterfly on the Seaside Spray spot and on Seaside Spray cardstock. I stamped in Night of Navy and embossed with clear ink. Tip: ink stamp with Versa Mark, then straight to colour ink Night of Navy Ink, then stamp on cardstock, then emboss with clear ink per normal. I then used my blending brush with a little Night of Navy to add a touch more colour to the butterfly wings. I fussy-cut the cardstock butterfly, giving it a bend and glued it to the spot butterfly only by the butterfly body.
Again I thought I'd level up my cards with a coloured cardstock base and a decorated inside panel. I really love how this inside panel turned out bring the elements from the front in.
